WARREN, Mich., Aug. 20, 2026 — Yesterday, a Warren Consolidated Schools teacher was arraigned on 12 charges, including possession of drugs and child pornography on his cellphone. Mark Michael Sharrow was arrested due to his connection with a third-degree criminal sexual conduct charge in Houghton Lake. According to Warren Consolidated Schools, Sharrow was on administrative leave when he was arrested and his home and phone were searched. In response to the search and arrest, state Rep. Mai Xiong (D-Warren) issued the following statement:
“I’m deeply disturbed to hear about the charges and am extremely grateful to local law enforcement at the Warren Police Department and the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office for acting swiftly to protect our children. Given Sharrow’s position in our public schools, the allegations in this case are deeply concerning — they call for a thorough investigation to understand the full extent of harm. I fully support the Macomb County Prosecutor’s efforts to pursue further investigation to hold this individual accountable and deliver justice to the families who depend on Warren Consolidated Schools. We need to take all measures in our power to keep this kind of horrible material out of people’s hands and to keep Michigan’s young people safe.”
